About On the Road...Where MUSIC Lives:

On the Road...Where MUSIC Lives came about when Rob Fenn realized his daughter’s idea of a record store was iTunes. To fix this, Rob’s daughter was given the option to buy one album a week. The only rule is it has to be a full album from a store. This has turned into a great bond between them, and let them both discover new music together.

Starting this summer, photographer Rob Fenn will hit the road across the country starting in Hollywood, CA photographing artists and music festivals both big and small. Along the way, Rob will be discovering one of music’s hidden treasures at every stop, the local indie record store. Rob will return to Hollywood from the road November 4th, 2011 for the final shoot of the adventure, and start putting the book together with the “On the Road... Where MUSIC Lives” team in West Hollywood, CA. In early 2012, the 376-page hard cover photo book will be for sale in indie record stores ONLY with proceeds going to charity. The book will feature live shots of artists along with profiles of all the indie record stores Rob came across throughout the photog tour. The cover is 12′′ x 12′′ that looks like a vinyl record jacket. Inside the back of the book is a 12′′ vinyl record with ten bands doing a cover of their favorite tune. This will be ten artists doing a track each on vinyl that you can’t get anywhere else. The entire adventure will be filmed to be edited into a documentary and submitted to SXSW and Sundance Film Festival for consideration.
